Hot pepper oil – How to Make

February 13th, 2008 scsi No comments

That is how I plan to make the hot pepper oil.  I am going to try to make this as concentrated as possible so I can just dilute it afterwards.

Peppers!

February 13th, 2008 scsi No comments

I’ve decided that I’m going to churn back up the pepper factory.

A few years ago, I got seeds from a patient of ours for some ‘peter
peppers’ (I think he has since died, and the seeds on the internet are
insanely expensive).  Google them to find out more, I guarantee you’ll
want to grow some yourself.  With a few of his peppers I managed to get
about 12 plants roaring which gave me about 50 peppers a piece.  I
collected the seeds from a selection of them as the rest of them just
grew mold and rotted in my pantry.  The seeds sat in an old glass
bottle until recently when I stumbled upon them.

So I have the
seeds planted in those little peat-starter thingys you buy at
home-depot.  I actually looked up as to the proper way to dry/can them,
so I wont have hundreds of peppers just sitting around rotting.  I also
am going to order some Naga Jolokia seeds so I can make my own atomic pepper oil.

God I hope the tobacco tax doesnt pass.

Thats just what we need, more tax money to be wasted on hospital mismanagement and other ‘special interest groups’.

Bah, lets tax fast food too, that kills more people than tobacco ever will.

July 17th, 2006 scsi No comments

Our flight was originally at 8:30. Then 9:15. Now its moved to 11 and there is chatter about it being cancelled.

Most of the shops in PDX are closed so I might have to hunt for food.

Shitty Day.

July 12th, 2006 scsi No comments

1. My DSL at home is getting ~35% packet loss
2. The DSL at work is getting ~35% packet loss
3. Other pharmacies are calling ME wondering why they cant process Rx’s, turns out they are getting packet loss as well
4. The dog was completely out of control this morning. Time to use the shock collar more often. He has seemed to forgotten who’s the boss, and obvously yelling at him doesnt do anything (since he just looks at us and blows us off)
5. Our country ran MediCal program switched Rx processors, now almost all the OTC stuff that is supposed to be covered is not. Its been broken for 12 days and counting.
6. I have a blister the size of my thumb on my heel that is currently soaking through my sock.

Good things:
1. Going to portland this weekend for Brad and Dinas wedding
2. Running a D&D game tonight
3. I have mexican food coming
4. <3 <3 <3

Mexico’s bill to Legalize Drugs.

May 2nd, 2006 scsi No comments

I cant believe it.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060502/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/mexico_drugs

Then they are going to come here and either bring their drugs into the country (which im sure they already do) or detox on our tax dollar.

Why does this not surprise me?

Also this:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=535&ncid=535&e=5&u=/ap/20060502/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/mexico_deadly_desert_1

Mostly the part here:

“On a recent afternoon, agents for the Mexican government’s Grupo Beta aid group distributed pamphlets to migrants preparing to cross. The pamphlets recommend carrying plenty of water, food and salt, and advise migrants to keep their clothing on to avoid dehydration and sunburn. If the heat gets to be too much, the pamphlets advise setting a fire to summon rescuers. ”

So a mexican government group sends pamphlets with survival tips on how to sneak into the US? I understand these are to help the people survive as they try to sneak into our country illegally, but gimme a break, a government group?

I think the demonstrations just put a lot more US attention on mexico that I dont think it really needed.

“Wheres my Mexican Day?”

May 1st, 2006 scsi No comments

Everyone knows how I feel on this, so I wont even take the time to spell it out. However i will add some food for thought:

Why instead of demonstrating they just open a shit-ton of booths with citizenship forms so these people can earn their legal status? I’m all for letting people in the country, however they must legally get citizenship just like all my dads farm workers, just like most of the patients in the pharmacy, and just like my forefathers and yours. Make it like the “get out and vote” slogan but “get your citzenship”. Get the ball rolling for some of these people. Do something rather than just bitch and moan (and get an excuse to get out of school/off work).

The demonstrating did absolutely zero to the pharmacy. In fact most of the legal mexican immigrants that I know were angry at the demonstrators (of course the immigrants I know came here with nothing and now have a job/family/career).

Eh, im just a dumb white guy, what do I know.. :)
