People will donate and give her stuff because they “feel sorry for the children” yet isn’t that all this psychotic bitch wants is for people to “love” her, people to “feel sorry for her”.  Have you seen her begging website (I’m not going to link it here because I don’t want to increase her pagerank) that she will probably go and use the money for stuff other than food and diapers for her children?  Its fucking pittiful.  She is preying on the good nature of people to help out those in need and the only reason why people are helping her out is because of the children who have NO SAY and who had NO SAY in this whole ordeal.  Why punish the children when their mom is fucking crazy?

Think how public opinion would be different if she got on the interview and said “Listen, I fucked up.  I really didn’t want all of these kids, I just wanted one more and look what happened.” However she was smug and happy and ‘look at me world’.  Thats why people are pissed.

Oh, and now it comes out that the Octomom has been writing letters to Angelina Jolie.

• My email server is on zero RBL’s and gets a clean bill of health from Spamhaus.

Now here is where the snowball of stupdity just keeps on growing.  Now you have to paste in your error into the form box, but the form box is way too small to paste the entire message error in.  Furthermore it bitches if it sees any special characters (say, like < > which are PRESENT IN ITS FUCKING ERROR).  So in the “what changes have you made” section, I said that their error-message link was broken, the error pasting was too small, and i’m not on any RBL’s.

So if you’re an AT&T admin reading this, please fix your shit.  From one admin to another this looks really bad.  I know you’re a big badass telco/world-domination company, but not fixing this is just going to have my friend drop your service like a hooker with herpes and give their money to a company that has their shit together.

1. Lots of mysql bashing… Because we all can afford $10k+ for an oracle license when paying for a site out of our own pocket.. Or better yet, postgresql. Heavens knows that ive *never* /ever/ had _any_ trouble with our postgresql server at inreach… Oh, did I mention how much I hate postgres?

2. Tards who think that each cabinet should have an uber big UPS.. Notice that said tards have never ever been into a colo faculity, nor have ever ran any “production server” (read: helpdesk tards, tech support tards).

3. People think that multiple PSU’s on the database servers means that if the power goes out in the whole faculity, the box will magically stay up just because it plugs into the walls in 2 places instead of one.

4. That a busy ass database server will come up 100% clean in the event that someone yanks the plug out of it… Because disks are magical, and no matter how much data you are reading and writing at once, the OS will always flush every write to the HD without degrading preformance.

5. That the colo company should of had a generator in the event of a failure. Yeah, because a generator will really help you when you blow fuses in the building itself.

6. They should of been using “enterprise” grade hardware, like Sun boxes or an AS/4000. More expensive hardware doesnt lose power as easily, it’s got more wires for the power to flow through before it turns off, thereby giving you some time.

Why do I even read slashdot? The only people who comment there are a bunch of armchair admins who think they know it all because they read slashdot and use linux on their home PC (only to surf webpages though, they have to use windows for everything else).

To the admins of wikipedia: I know that you will never see this, nor read this. But heres a note to say how much you guys kick ass. From us /real/ admins out there who have been there (watching percentages slowly tick up one by one on that damn rsync/myisamchk/fsck/etc check at 3am while people are bitching); I just want to say that you have our support.. May the mighty filesystem journal and transaction log gods be with you, and i’m sorry you lost everything in memcache..

All of a sudden, one of the machines just bombs, I/O errors and collisions up the ass to our smtp server, etc.. Turns out that dispite the cisco switch being hardcoded for 100BT/FD, the stupid ass nic card (I love ethtool) was seeing it as 100BT/HD.. Fucking duplex..

Andy changed the switches to auto, i bounced the interfaces and boom, 100BT/FD and everything is happy.. Of course this was after I changed the MX records back to postini while we worked on it so no more mail would get delayed..

I also hardcoded in our smtp server’s IP into sendmail’s relaytable, so that way it didnt have to do a lookup for every delivery.. We’ll cross the bridge of multiple smtp servers later on down the road and how we’re going to load balance it (big/ip maybe?)….

I just realized that about 80% of the people who read my journal wont know what the fuck i’m talking about.. This really makes me wonder why the fuck im a pharmacist..

(Of course just to excluse those geeky 20%, I could rant here about beta-blockers, ace-inhibitors and how the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors lower morbidity and mortality in people with stage 1-4 congestive heart failure.. Plus they made a new aldosterone blocking agent that has a MoA similar to aldactone, but like 1000x the price (and doesnt smell like peppermint.. heh) that nobody covers but all the doctors are writing for.. I wonder if it has the same potassium sparing diuretic effect that spironolactone has as well.. hmm)..

How much I paid for the whole thing = 2 hours of my time to hear some dude talk about Congestive Heart Failure.
