Railing against society

February 26th, 2009 scsi 3 comments

At what point do we, as a society, tell people “produce or get the fuck out”.

Sitting at work today, I wondered why I do it.  Why do I put up with the bullshit? Why do I contribute to a system that just rewards laziness and irresponsibility.  Why don’t I do like everyone does and have my ass wiped for me by the government?

People waltz around without a care in the world fully knowing that the government will provide them with a place to live, food on the table, and their basic needs; a luxury that I do not have.  I stand there, 9 hours a day, serving these people that have contributed NOTHING to the well-being or advancement of society.  They are the hemlock, the blight ; feeding off of us who bust our asses to make ends meet.  I’m at work, they are not.  I bust my ass to do whats right and they just bitch and leech and contribute nothing.  I do everything for them, but what do they do for -me-?  Help thine neighbor is a two way street and all I see are red street reflectors.

They are the proverbial royalty, and we are the serfs who tend to the farmlands so they royalty can eat.  They wake up at 3pm when I’m at work by 9am.  They have no cares in the world other than how they are going to waste away their day living off of their SSI or disability check due to the forms that some quack for an MD that bought their pity-party story signed off on.  Their blight-filled ride is just enhanced by narcotics that WE as taxpayers pay for to treat some “condition” that is a candy-coated rationalization for addiction and abuse.

Sure there are exceptions to this.  People who want to work whom are physically unable to do so.  People with small children that they cannot leave unattended.  There is an exception to every rule, however those people should be as angry as I am because the hemlock above waste they resources that they can use to get into a position of production.  The working class pays to help those who cant, not those who wont.  Why should a man learn to fish when the town provides him with all the fish he can eat?

But no, we rationalize it away that we are ‘helping’ whilst cowering under the heavy stick of political correctness and the squishy “can’t offend anyone” mindset.  We hide in fear of being tagged with stereotypical or racial remarks as the leeches of society grasp at straws to justify their behavior. Race cards get thrown down, feelings get hurt.  People cant take the harsh reality of the situation and would rather just throw money at a problem and pretend it doesn’t exist.  Now the money is running out, and the problem wants their paycheck.

There isn’t an easy solution to this problem, nor am I trying to state one here.  With California nose-diving into the financial ground the boil of society is about to come to a head, and I don’t think we as society are prepared to face the monster that we have created.

More about OctoMom and her OctoCrotch

February 15th, 2009 scsi 1 comment

The more and more I hear about the idiot Octomom the more and more furious I get.  You know what the book deals and movie deals and the attention teaches us all?

You will always be rewarded if you fuck up big enough.

People will donate and give her stuff because they “feel sorry for the children” yet isn’t that all this psychotic bitch wants is for people to “love” her, people to “feel sorry for her”.  Have you seen her begging website (I’m not going to link it here because I don’t want to increase her pagerank) that she will probably go and use the money for stuff other than food and diapers for her children?  Its fucking pittiful.  She is preying on the good nature of people to help out those in need and the only reason why people are helping her out is because of the children who have NO SAY and who had NO SAY in this whole ordeal.  Why punish the children when their mom is fucking crazy?

Think how public opinion would be different if she got on the interview and said “Listen, I fucked up.  I really didn’t want all of these kids, I just wanted one more and look what happened.” However she was smug and happy and ‘look at me world’.  Thats why people are pissed.

Oh, and now it comes out that the Octomom has been writing letters to Angelina Jolie.

The woman is a trainwreck.  I stand by my 1 year before she kills herself.

Life Updates, etc

September 20th, 2008 scsi No comments

So, turns out that I havent updated this thingy in quite a while. Lots going on in the land of Frank.

1. I got married. Went to hawaii, and I hope to be posting the pictures soon.
2. Got an iPhone, which makes me happy.
3. Work is well, work.
4. Started using twitter. You can add me at www.twitter.com/scsi. Prepare for annoying daily twitter update posts here.
5. The shadowrun game has started. The backend is working quite well. I only have a few parts of it active and are working at cleaning up all the bugs that people find. The game is going slow, and we had some inter-party drama last night, but as soon as everyone clears out their calendars it should start to take off and settle.

Fun Friday for Me

May 23rd, 2008 scsi No comments

The Fiance is out of town, so obviously you would think that I would be out partying with my friends. However:

Friday (today) my day as been composed of:

1. Working a full day.
2. Coming home
3. Going to a sit down restaurant by myself. Sitting at a table by myself, and eating by myself without saying one word to anyone. Totally the most depressing thing I’ve ever done.
4. Sitting here at my computer drinking by myself while watching random videos on youtube and coding some php shit for a shadowrun game that I’m going to be running.

I swear, if I have any more fun my head will explode.

I am internet old school.

May 2nd, 2008 scsi No comments

This october 2nd I will have this for 10 years. Jeezus, 10 years.

The year is 1994-1995. I am a Junior at Linden High school. The internet craze is just started to get rolling. This is when a 486 DX4 100 was blazing fast, and you were hot shit if you had a 14.4 or even a 28.8 modem. BBS’s were still going strong, and the cream-of-the-crop was ‘Record Online’ with a whopping 7 nodes. ‘The Wrong Number’ was also pretty hot too with only nodes. Even typing those names out again gave me a whiff of nostalgia.

Whats sad is that most of the kids now days don’t remember (nor appreciate) the Internet. They take it for granted. They dont remember dialing in with Trumpet Winsock in Windows 3.1 to a 14.4 modem somewhere (if your ISP had a local number) and getting 100 hours a month for a whopping $29.99. This is before AOL had internet access and Compuserve, Prodigy, and Prominade were more huge BBS’s than ISP’s.

The search engine of choice was infoseek, and if that failed you could always use archie/veronica or gopher to look for stuff from the universities. There was no animated gifs or annoying flash movies. All of the sound files on the internet were .au format from the macs. The internet was fast, spam was almost non-existant, and the ability to talk to someone in real-time half way across the world via IRC really blew your mind.

People take that shit for granted. The internet has become an appliance like the television or the microwae.

MUDS were roaring strong, and Kali was out so you could play IPX network games over the internet (like Descent and Doom). Warez was a bunch of .arj files that were in 1.44 (or 2.8) .zips. Usenet is where it was at for pr0n, but you had to save locally because the overturn of news posts was really fast. 1.27 gig hard drives seemed like infinate and a gig of ram for a server would run you at the very minimum a few grand (if the motherboard supported it). ICQ was just ramping up (my number is 576027) and there was no such thing as “blogging”.

If you had software like wordpress or MT, you would be a god and a hochillionare. PHP (as far as i can remember) was either non-existant or nobody used it. MySQL wasn’t used much and everyone who wanted a good db used Oracle. Shit was static HTML. The browsers were Mosiac, then Netscape. IE was a wet dream of someone who should of been killed a long time ago.

Blogging was just a funny sounding word, and unless you wanted to write your own software you’d have to wait 5 years for LiveJournal (and then DeadJournal, go me) to crank up.

Makes me wonder if in 2018 when I look back on this, I’ll be able to wonder how I lived without neural uplinks or some wierd Web 10.x feature that people seem to flaunt.

Automatic Checkout

February 24th, 2008 scsi No comments

Today I had the wonderful idea of replacing the water-sensor and flapper valve that powers the ancient toilet in my house.  It wasn’t filling properly, and I figured that if I could pass pharmacy school, a toilet couldn’t be too hard to fix.  Nothing annoys me more than sitting down waiting for the damn toilet to fill when there is 1 shit-covered piece of toilet paper floating around in there.  The old fill-valve took about 5 min’s to fill the tank, which is way too long in my book.

So I managed to find the toilet-rebuilding section of Home Depot and gather my parts.  It wasn’t too hard or involved since toilets are pretty much standardized (thank god) so I grabbed a few other things I needed and proceeded to the auto-checkout line.

There was a woman there berating the machine at the top of her lungs as to how stupid it was, and how they were so hard to use, blah blah blah, rant rant rant.  I looked around at the 4 empty checkout lines who’s clerks were just sitting there looking at her.  Personally I like the auto-checkout because its fast, and I like scanning stuff.  Her and I finished about the same time as she decided to involve me into her psychotic tirade about the checkout machines.  She started saying “dont you find those hard to use?”.  I sorta quietly said “Well, not really, I like them”.  Boy, wrong answer.  Have two-scoops of insanity-driven money-shot all over your face Frank.  I just sorta ignored her as I walked to my car continuing to hear her rant about the damn auto-checkouts.

Now I was confused, did she intentionally go to the auto-checkout so she’ll have something to bitch about or out of convince.  There was really nobody in the store at the time, so she could of gone to a manual checkout and gotten serviced by a real person.  I think she was just lonely and needed something to bitch about, much like I’m doing now in a more public but less conspicuous way.

Introduction

February 9th, 2008 scsi No comments

I guess I should start this thing off by posting some sort of introduction so you all know what this site is about.

This site is going to be a braindump of random things that I’m interested in.  It can range from tabletop rpg, guns, computer stuff, pharmacy stuff, etc.

As for me, I’m a 29 year old living in California.  I’m a full-time pharmacist who also has a past-life as a sysadmin for an ISP.  I still play tabletop RPG games (and no, I do get laid and I do not live in my parents basement) as well as video games and do other things that your typical geek does (like drink gin).  I’m slated to get married to my wonderful fiance’ in 2008, and I wear size 12 shoes.

If you decide you like this site, then subscribe to the RSS feed.  If you don’t like this site, then go screw yourself and the horse you rode in on.
